Tuesday Election Predictions

Here are my predictions for this Tuesday's General Assembly elections for the VA Senate. I have only covered the close VA Senate elections.

SD #39: Jay O'Brien defeats George Barker
A good friend and great campaigner, Jay O'Brien has been working extremely hard to hold his seat. After a strong weekend of GOTV, Senator O'Brien will have a victory on Tuesday night. Barker has run a campaign that has failed to have a message and is hoping that an anti-incumbent atmosphere will carry him to victory. This strategy, while fatally flawed, will make Barker a BIG LOSER. Senator O'Brien deserves this victory after he has worked so hard.

SD #34: Chap Petersen (very conservative democrat) defeats Jeannemarie Devolites Davis (self proclaimed RINO)
Chap Petersen has been a fun candidate to watch this year. As this is the district that I live in, I have followed this race closely. Chap who is running as a very conservative democrat is trouncing incumbent RINO Devolites Davis. Jeannemarie has made several gaffes that make her undeserving of re-election. Chap will have a victory on Tuesday night.

SD #37: Ken Cuccinelli defeats Janet Oleszeck
This race has been a fun one to follow. Janet Oleszeck had a real chance to win here but through an inept campaign staff and several fatal mistakes the Oleszeck campaign has lost the edge they may have had otherwise. Also, Ken has made a couple of missteps as well but his have had far less impact than hers. Ken's campaign runs like a well oiled machine which will carry him to victory on Tuesday.

SD #1:
Tricia Stall defeats John Miller
Tricia Stall would be the most conservative member of the Virginia Senate. It would appear that after some major problems with her campaign that she may just pull it out. The 1st is a GOP district and one she should be able to win.

SD #6: Nick Rerras defeats Ralph Northam
Senator Nick Rerras is an extremely hard worker. His hard work will pay off for him on November 6th as he defeats Ralph Northam.

SD #28: Albert Pollard defeats Richard Stuart
This will be a close race but I don't think that Stuart has done enough to convince the voters of the 28th to turn out. I hope that Stuart can pull out some magic here but from the way things are today I think that Pollard may have the upper hand. This will be an extremely close race regardless.
